Windham High swim coach Pete Small said,

"Hannah is one of the fiercest competitors and intense workout performers. She is consistently challenging herself and her teammates, in a very uplifting, encouraging manner." 

The Springer Scholarship, established by Doug Springer, a 2021 HOF inductee, recognizes a Maine high school senior who has demonstrated dedication and service to his or her team, school, and community.

Heansler donated over 100 hours of community service during her high school career.

Small and Lee Crocker, President of the  Maine Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame, announced Heansler's selection at  Windham High's  recognition event held in June. Heansler will attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in the fall.
